Wolves-A Pack Of-How many wolves are there in a pack?
I have seen packs of timber wolves, northern grey wolf; but have never seen them except in winter. I remember having seen seven once, which is the most I ever saw in one pack. Most always, I think, there are three or four in a pack. I do not think that the packs always consist of old ones and pups as H. W. suggests. I have seen their tracks several times in the snow where there appeared to be three or four together. I don’t think that as a rule they go into packs till along mid-winter. I don’t think there is one wild wolf in this state (Maine).
