WINCHESTER 1886—What caliber rifle would be good for northern Minnesota?
I can recommend the Winchester, Model 1886, .33 caliber, with half magazine, shotgun butt, and sling strap, equipped with the Lyman Wind Gauge Receiver Sight and ivory or gold bead front sight. I would prefer the gun without the rear sight slot on the barrel, but if it has such a slot, it should be filled with a blank. I am sure you could not find a more desirable rifle for that part of the country.
