WILD HORSES—Is there a law on wild horses not branded. If so can you tell me what it is or where I can find out?
I think not, except that fenced lands “wild horses” may be owned by the fencer. Your sheriff should be able to tell you this, or one of his deputies. Of course, you run a chance of picking up a “stray” as a mare that has been run off by a stallion. If she is caught, her brand applies to her colt. The law of the Mavericks applies to the wild horses I think.
