Weasel-Small Species-There is a small species of weasel here which the fur buyers call kits, but I think they are different from the ordinary weasel. They are about four inches in length from the tip of the nose to the root of the tail, and the tail measures from one and a half to two and a half inches. I don’t believe there would be any such small kits in the winter. Do you think they are a different species?
The smallest species of weasel known by naturalists is the Least Weasel of Western Canada, and is found as far south as Northern Minnesota, so it is said. This weasel differs from the ordinary king in not having the black tip on the tail.
