Weasel-Good Bait for-Is the weasel afraid of the smell of iron? What is a good scent for them, and what is a good method for catching them where they travel a great deal and do not have a permanent den?
Apparently not. If you watch weasel’s tracks, you will often find that it visits a locality about every so often-perhaps every week or two weeks. They hunt the same brush, the same barns and camps. Blind sets in their nests under floors, or brush, catch them. A little cubby, as in trapping for mink, marten, skunks, set with steel traps where they pass, baited with a small bird, piece of chicken, or fresh meat, especially bloody meat, are good lures. If you had a beef head, or a chunk of meat, which the animal would visit in passing, traps around it, sheltered from snow, would serve.
