A VERMONT DEER HUNT
I will tell you about our deer hunt last fall and will enclose a picture of the deer. One morning my friend and I started to where we expected to find a deer. There was not much snow and it made traveling easy. We discovered some fresh tracks and went on at a rapid pace after them. We had not gone far before we found two, one large and one small one. We took good aim and hit the small one, for we saw him fall down. I was so excited I could . scarcely see the sights on my rifle.
Then we were entitled to another, as we both shot that one together. Well, we hunted continually for the following week and on Saturday morning we saw another fine buck, which we shot. We were two happy boys to think we both had a nice buck of 150 pounds apiece. This finished our hunt as only one deer is allowed to each man in Vermont.. We have lots of small game, such as grey squirrels, red squirrels, rabbits, fox, bear, 'coons and skunk.
