VARIOUS SIZE SHOT—Will a shotgun use all sizes of shot advantageously or are there certain sizes best adapted?
If you will try different sizes of shot in your gun you will find one size that will make it kill as well as the other gun. I have a double gun that will not make a good pattern with any smaller shot than No. 6. or larger than No. 3, and I have found other guns the same way. I use 2 1/2 drams of black powder and one ounce of No. 6 shot, and get good results. Try different loads in your gun until you find the right one. No two guns, even of the same make, will shoot alike. I once owned 26 guns of different makes and calibers, and have used all kinds of guns in the last 40 years.
