Used in Army and Navy-What kind and caliber of revolvers is used in the United States Army and Navy?
I cannot say for a certainty just what model and caliber of revolver is the standard in the United States Army and Navy at present, for the government changes these arms frequently. The Colt Revolver is always used. The .45 Colt’s Service revolver has been used somewhat and the .38 Colt’s Army Double Action and Double Action Navy were standard arms until quite recently may be even yet, but I think not, as these two latter arms are no longer made. The Colt’s Marine Double Action was also adopted by the Navy, but its manufacture has also been discontinued. I believe that the standard revolver now used in the Army and Navy is the Army Special Double Action, .38 and .41 calibers.
