I took a new 10-22 out to the woods for a rabbit hunt. I had just got the rifle the night before, hooked up a scope and dialed it in. I was ready! (so I thought). The first rabbit I came across I missed by 3 feet. Scratching my head trying to figure out how in 4 rounds I never really got close to hitting him, I hiked back to the house and took a close look at the rig. I used no thread locker, and my scope base had loosened up. I was new to hunting and shooting (so I’m excused lol), but I still catch myself making little mistakes like that. The ones that can turn into BIG issues when I’m in the woods. I guess the moral is to slow down and double check everything, twice.
