USING A CLEANING ROD—Will the nickel joints and trimmings on a shotgun cleaning-rod injure the barrel of the arm?

I don’t believe they will as they are usually flush with the wood or lower, moreover are made of brass as a rule. In my opinion a one piece wood rod is more convenient and will do equally good work, so if you have any doubt it would be just as well to be on the safe side and use the one-piece rod.
