TURTLES, MARKET — Are the large snapping-turtles found in fresh water the kind that are served in hotels and restaurants? If so, can you tell me where to find a market for them, and do you know of any market in the New England States?
Yes, the turtles you speak of are the kind that are used as food. I cannot tell you of any market in New England, but M. J. Ryan, Front and Spruce Sta., Philadelphia, Pa., has advertised in the H-T-T for years. Many of the leading hotels and restaurants serve turtle soup, so must buy.
