Trapping-Cost of Outfit-Will you give me an idea as to the cost of outfit for a trapping expedition into Northern British Columbia, including pack horses and saddles, clothing, food , traps, etc.,.

Hardly less than $600, buying everything new. If you have had no experience, in a large way, you could spend a thousand dollars, and then not have enough. The chances are you would not want to buy pack horses, but would do better to hire them for the trip in, the owner taking them out in the fall, saving you the trouble of wintering them. If you haven’t trapped, you must serve an apprenticeship and it should be with an experienced trapper, usually without pay and getting only your board, at most.
