Trapping in the Duck Mountains | |

Trapping in the Duck Mountains-What are the fur bearing animals in the Duck Mountains of Manitoba, Canada?
Trapping is fairly good. Muskrats are plentiful in some localities, while mink may be found anywhere. Lynx and marten are to be found in smaller numbers in the rougher parts, while wolves, coyotes and foxes roam over the whole district. Bears are also found in small numbers. Otter and beaver are scarce and are protected by the game laws. Moose and deer are to be found there in fair numbers. Lakes in that district are small and not very plentiful, but there are many small streams. Settlement exists up to the hills, but in them few people would be met with.
