TRAP OIL—I wish some person would tell me what kind of oil is best to oil traps with to keep them in good shape during the summer.

I never oil traps, but have known some trappers to use fish oil (the kind kept by druggists), and one old mink trapper from Iowa greases his traps with lard, then holds them over burning hay until the grease burns off. Care must be used to not let the traps get hot enough to injure the springs.
