Trail Scent-Trail scent is said to be of great value to trappers because any animal that strikes your trail will follow it to your trap and get caught. But what puzzles me is this: Suppose you were using trail scent and somewhere along your line you made a set for skunks, what would a mink or any other animal that has been following your trail do when they smell the skunks scent. Would the sent for skunks scare them away or would they investigate the set?
By accident you might be able to catch some animal in your skunk trap providing your bait is not scented by Mr. Skunk. The other animals would follow your scented trail just the same regardless of Mr. Skunk, providing you did not have too many human signs.
