TRACKS—I found some tracks along the creek and would like to know whether they are mink tracks. They are placed about sixteen inches apart and are exactly in line. Please describe a mink track.
Without seeing the tracks or an accurate drawing of them, I cannot tell what animal made them. A mink jumps from sixteen to twenty inches and makes two footprints at a place, one ahead of and to one side of the other. Sometimes the prints of all four feet are seen, but usually only two. The footprints will measure about 3/4x1 inch and show five toes each.
