When skin is removed form an animal it should be drawn onto a smooth board and all flesh and fat peeled or scraped off. If not dried in the heat they not get greasy then. If the oil works into the pelt because of drying in too much heat, simply wipe it off with a perfectly clean cloth, and hang the pelt in a cool place.
