Teaching to Bark at Tree-What is the best way to teach a young dog to bark at tree or den?
Fasten a light wagon wheel to a plank, by an upright spindle or post through the hub, so that the wheel may be easily revolved, in a horizontal position. Then procure a live coon and tie him to the outer rim of the wheel, and tie your dog to the wheel some distance behind the coon, where he cannot reach it; then start the wheel and urge the dog to try to catch it. Also put the coon on a tree and get the dog excited, and he will soon commence to bark.
