My spirits lifted when I immediately got a reply from Mr. McSharry, expressing regret about my previous experience elsewhere and assuring me it would not be repeated with his company. The very next day another email advised me of a possible slight backorder and asked me how I wished to proceed. No walk-in store could do more. Finally, actions speak louder than words - my knife came exactly as planned, wrapped securely and in perfect condition. I received an email alerting me when it was coming. The price was unbeatable - literally, a good deal less than the company that swallowed my credit card information and then went silent. I recommend Mr. McSharry's www.huntingblades.com to anyone who has a specific knife in mind, appreciates old-fashioned business courtesy, including replies to questions, and great value.
