TENTS SIZE AND QUALITY—Is a wall tent seven by seven feet, made -of eight ounce duck, large enough for two persons, and what would it weigh? If used every day during the summer, how long would it last?
Now, when you think this over, doesn’t it seem to you that answering such a question is wasting space? You know how big such a tent is and whether it would be big enough for two persons. Lay off seven foot square on the ground and see whether you would be con tent to live in such a cramped space, even alone. There certainly would not be room for two. Such a tent will weigh about twenty pounds, without fly and poles. How long it will last depends on how well it is taken care of. If it is waterproofed, and is pitched in a dry, breezy place, where it will dry off quickly after a rain, and not mildew or rot, it will last several years. I would advise you to get a larger tent, and one of heavier material. A ten ounce double filling duck tent will not cost much more.
