Tell approx. how much daylight is left without a watch.
Hold your arm towards the sun. With your arm fully extended point your palm toward your face. Count how many finger widths between the horizon and the sun. Each finger width is about 15 minutes (using only your fingers and not your thumb, one hand is about an hour), you can use both hands and keep stacking them putting the bottom one on the top until reaching the sun if needed.
