“Swift”-What It Is-Can you describe to me what kind of an animal the “swift” is?
The “swift” is a bird called “chimney swift,” “tree swift,” “bank swift,” etc. The bird resembles a swallow, but lacks the musical notes, its cry being a chippering or chitter. Usually they are called “swifts” due , I think, to their fast flight. There is a fox known as the “swift,” I believe, in some localities. It is the common gray fox of the southern states, which strays into the north occasionally.
