Do not store your knives in their sheaths. Some materials attract moisture and over time will promote rust especially on the sharpened edge. This can even happen to what we know as stainless steel. And above all else use a good rust preventive compound on the metal parts. Follow these steps and your prized knife collection will remain pristine.
