Still Trailer vs. Tonguer

Still Trailer vs. Tonguer-Will you or some of the readers tell me whether a still trailing dog will tree a coon in less time (not on a den tree) than the dog that tongues on the trail? Would the latter give the coon a better chance to get to his den? I have never seen a full blooded hound that did not tongue on the trail, and as the hound can follow a colder trail than other dogs I believe I can get more coons with the hound, than tongues on the trail, where coons are scarce, than with the still trailing dog. I would like to see articles on this subject from the old coon hunters.

The best coon dog I ever saw was a still trailer, but the question is open to friendly discussion, and, like you, we would be pleased to get articles on this subject from the coon hunters.
