Many hunters make the mistake of walking at a constant and steady pace through the woods while stalk hunting. One of the most effective ways of stalk hunting deer is to walk several feet and then stop, listen and look for deer. Hunters often get surprisingly close to a deer and walk right past them without seeing the deer. But if the hunter stops, the deer naturally thinks the hunter has sensed that the deer is there and the deer will panic and run. Give a blow on your grunt tube or just give a whistle and if the deer isn't spooked to bad, they will stop and look around a brief moment, which will provide the hunter a chance for a standing shot rather than shooting at a fleeing deer.
