No, it would be next to worthless for that use. You want a heavier, longer barreled gun. If it is chambered for the short cartridge use that one only. If it is chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge and no other should be used in it. I can recommend both the Stevens Off Hand model and the Stevens Diamond Model, the choise depending on the manner of shooting you prefer to adopt. For shooting by holding the gun at arm’s length like a revolver, choose the Off Hand model.
