Stevens Diamond Model-Which Stevens Diamond Model is best, the six inch or ten inch barrel and which cartridge, .22 Long or .22 Long Rifle, black or smokeless powder? Shoud it have peep rear and globe front sights?

If you want to use the pistol for off hand shooting-holding in one hand at arms length, get the six inch barrel with open sights. If you want to use it by resting it over your forearm, get the pistol with ten inch barrel and globe and peep sights. The pistols chambered in the .22 Long Rifle cartridge and it is advisable to use the cartridge only, for the use of .22 Short and .22 Long in this arm will ruin the barrel. If we could get the pistol chambered for the .22 Short I would prefer that cartridge. You can get any of these cartridges loaded with smokeless powder, and greased or ungreased bullets, and I am not sure which are best, but I prefer the smokeless cartridges with ungreased bullets, because they do not collect dirt when carried loose in the pocket, and because smokeless powder is much cleaner in the barrel, but the ungreased bullets may not be as accurate as the greased ones.
