STRETCHING BOARDS—FOR WILDCATS—Please give me instructions for making stretching boards for wildcats, with dimensions.
I have trapped only a few wild cats, and skinned these open. A board for cased skins should be shaped the same as for lynx, fox and other animals of that kind, and I think that the sizes of boards for lynx, medium and small, will do all right for wildcats. These sizes are: largest size, length 56 inches, width at shoulders (16 inches from nose), 8 inches; width at base, 10 inches. Medium size—length 52 inches; width 15 inches from nose, 7 inches; width at base, 9 inches. These measurements are for plain hoards to be used with a key. A smaller size may also be needed, but I think these two sizes will accommodate most of them. If desired the boards may be ripped down the center and a wedge used instead of the key.
