Smokeless Powder Cartridge-Will the barrel of a .25-20 black powder rifle stand the smokeless, low pressure, lead bullet cartridge, such as the U.M.C. people make?

The smokeless powder cartridge with lead bullet maybe used in any black powder rifle. It has about the same power as the black powder cartridge and I believe; owing to the slower burning qualities of the smokeless powder it gives a lower barrel pressure. The rifle mentioned will also stand the high velocity loads, but the metal patched bullets wear the barrel more rapidly than lead bullets do and I think it best to use lead bullets alone as a rule, and, of course, low pressure smokeless or black powder, unless the barrel is made of a special hard steel.
