Skunk Dog-Will some reader tell me whether a skunk dog is expected to find the trails or the dens of the game? Do skunks stay in their dens through December and January?

A skunk hunting dog will find the trail of the animals and follow it until he finds the game. The skunk will not run from the dog. Skunks remain in their dens during the cold parts of December and January but come out warm nights if the snow is not deep and loose. They travel more in February and March.
