SIGHTS FOR REMINGTON STANDARD—I have a Remington “Standard” grade repeating rifle and would like to get new sights for it. The rear sight appears blurred and the front sight is hard to find on a dark background. I want to get a peep rear sight and a bead front sight; what sights do you consider best, and what are the prices?
I advise the use of the Marble Simplex Sight, No. R. 7, which is made for this rifle, and an ivory or gold bead front sight with 3/32-inch bead. j would prefer the Reversible front sight which has both an ivory and a gold bead, but it is more likely to be injured than the ordinary solid sight. The Simplex costs $3, the plain bead front sight either ivory or gold, costs $1, and the Reversible sight costs $1.50.
