SIGHTS FOR DIAMOND MODEL PISTOL
SIGHTS FOR DIAMOND MODEL PISTOL—Can I use the globe front and peep rear sights on a Steven’s “Diamond Model’ pistol and do you think the pistol is better than the revolver for general uses?
Certainly you can use the sights—they are made for use, but to use them the pistol must be held closer to the eye than when using the open sights. I prefer the peep and globe sights on a gun of this kind and shoot it by resting it on my left forearm, my left hand resting on my right forearm, just above the wrist. The 10 inch barrel is best for these sights and this style of shooting. I would choose the pistol in preference to a high grade revolver of the same caliber, because you get an arm of the same grade for a much lower price, it is lighter in weight, and has a little more power than any revolver using the same cartridge, because there is no possibility of gas escaping as in the revolver.
