Scup (Scuppang, Porgy, etc.): Caught from Cape Cod to Florida on bits of clam from July to the middle of November; July and September are best; found in the channel-bottoms during both tides. Weighs up to two pounds. Tackle: Light bait-rod, small multiplying reels, single leader, light linen line, small hook tied near a light swivel sinker.
