SCATTERS TOO MUCH—I have a double barrel shotgun which scatters too much, Is there any way in which this can be remedied, and if so, where, and what will it cost?
If your gun is a new one you can have it rebored and choked to do close shooting. If it is an old gun with the original choke shot out, the only remedy, that I know is a brass lining. This is done by the American Gun Barrel Brass Lining Co., of York, Pa. The cost of reboring a double gun la $3 .00; brass lining double gun, $16.00. They say they ,can choke a brass lined gun to give the closest possible shooting. The brass lined barrel also has other advantages over the all-steel barrel— reduced friction of shot and as a consequence better penetration, no danger of pitting or rusting, etc.
