Scent Glands-Where Found-Can you tell me how many of the following animals have scent glands and where are they situated, on the fox, wolf, coon and mink?
All animals have scent glands. In the fox and wolf and coon they are small and scattered-sweat glands, as under the forelegs. The “kernels” of the coon, always removed from the shoulders for cooking, are of this type. Under the roots of the tail of the mink are two small sacks, filled with a strong muck, which is the mink scent.
