In the area I hunt most, dawn and dusk are the most frustrating times and squirrels are the reason. The running and jumping through the leaf litter can make small movements sound huge, as anyone who has ever experienced this knows. (My husband got his first buck looking for that squirrel that was making all that noise!) So to whittle away the time while still remaining alert and ready, we bring along a BB gun. Nothing fancy, just an old Daisy spring action. We can practice our aim, scare off the squirrels (it won't kill them or do any real damage) and do it all quietly enough not to scare off any real game in the area. Fun and functional!
