RUST REMOVER—How can I remove rust from gun barrels?
To remove rust from gun barrels, or any iron or steel surface, go to your druggist and have him compound the following: Perchloride of tin 12 1/2 drachms, tartaric acid 1 drachm, water (distilled) 1 pint. To use this preparation, fill the barrel and about every five minutes run a copper scratch brush through the bore. Do this a number of times, then pour out and wash out with strong, soapy water; dry and grease.
