Ring Tail Cat-What is a ring tail cat and where is it found?
A ring tail cat is a small animal found mainly in the southern and southwestern parts of this country. They are found in the wooded lands of southwestern Texas, Old Mexico and some parts of California and north. It is about the size of a mink or civet cat. It has short ears, more like those of an opossum than anything else. Its fur is of poor quality and of a light greyish brown on the back with scarcely any fur on its belly and of a pale yellow on its under part. Its length from tip of nose to base of tail is from 12 to 14 inches. It has a very long tail about the same length as that of a coon, something near the same as a mink tail. Its hide should be cased and will stretch only about 4 inches wide and about 26 inches tip to tip.
