Revolver Timing
Revolver timing refers the proper function of the mechanism that locks the cylinder so that the chambers are in alignment with the bore. A revolver is said to be out of time, when the hammer is pulled back slowly and the action fails to lock the cylinder into alignment. Revolvers can come out of timing, by mechanical failure due to wear or from abuse, most often caused by spinning the cylinder and then flipping it closed as often seen on the movies.
