I've been hunting with my dad for several years now, he has taught me so much my brain has so much trouble organizing it all. One of the tips I have learned that helped me separated the swamp bucks from the ridge runners is that, if the toe print in the dirt is jagged, this usually means he runs a lot, therefore he is a ridge runner, if it is smooth and clean, he’s a swamp deer, because he doesn’t need to run and walk as much.
