REBORING A .22—I have a .22 caliber Winchester rifle, single shot, which I am thinking of having remodeled to a .25 caliber. Do you think it will work, and where can I have it done?
If the rifle uses the center fire .22 Winchester Single Shot cartridge, I think you can have it re-bored for either the .25-25 Stevens or the .25-20 Single Shot, as the cartridges all appear to have practically the same head diameter and all that would be necessary is to have it re-bored and re-chambered, and perhaps a little fitting done to the extractor. I think the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. will do this for a few dollars.
