REMINGTON AND W. R. F. —I want to buy a rifle that will handle our game which consists mostly of jackrabbits, chicken and an occasional coyote and fox. This country is settled and a high power gun would be prohibited and our range is seldom over 150 yards. How would a Winchester Model 1890 bored to shoot the .22 W. R. F. ammunition do for an all-around gun?
You will find the W. R. F. about right; the Remington is also a good one. A friend of mine killed not only foxes, grouse, rabbits and furs with this rifle, but got many deer with it—though not a deer gun. You wanted a slightly heavier cartridge, but more expensive to shoot, the .25-20 is of good sort.
