REBORING .22 LONG RIFLE-Can a .22 bored for long rifle be made to a .22 special or is a .25 better? Which is the best?
It depends a good deal on the kind of rifle. I had a Remington .82 bored for a .58 once—single—single shot, of course, and it was a dandy gun. I should have the .22 special put in, unless the barrel is spotted or pitted, in which case the 25 could be put in. The maker of your rifle would answer this for you, and tell the cost.
