RABBIT SKIN BLANKET—How is a rabbit skin blanket made?
Rabbit skin blankets arc made only by Indians, from the skins of the snowshoe rabbit. The skins are cut, while fresh, into a long, narrow strip, which rolls up immediately, leaving the hair outside. The skins are then frozen and remain so until enough (about seventy-five) have been collected for a blanket, when they are woven in a frame and allowed to dry.
