Having a positive attitude is key to success while hunting. Without a positive attitude, you won’t give 100% to what you are doing, you will go through the motions but put nothing in and in return you will get nothing out.

Without a positive attitude, you don’t have the ability to accept defeat, lets face it, hunting is not easy, more times than not you don’t see a thing let alone shoot anything, but we still go, why? Because you have a positive attitude.

I hunted hard this year, what did I get, nothing but some great memories with friends! I only saw 2 deer in our six-week season here in Maine, both bounding with flags up, but I still had fun and learned some new things about the area I hunt. I found a new area that had a lot of sign, but I didn’t connect, but I guarantee with some scouting I will tag out in the area next year.

I had a group of turkey come up to me while I was sitting on a slash pile, the tom was within 2 feet of the soles of my boots, with at least 10 jakes and hens around him, they knew I was there but I didn’t move and they just picked there way on by. If that doesn’t get your heart racing nothing will all I could thing while looking at all those spurs was how interesting this was going to be in the emergency room.

Having a positive attitude may not fill your tag every year, but it sure does help.
