PHOENIX RIFLE
This breech-loading rifle was formerly manufactured by the Whitney Arms Company. Like the Whitney and Kennedy rifles, which are improvements on it, it is very simple of construction, and perfectly strong, safe and durable, while the ease of manipulation in opening and closing the breech, and extracting the shell or cartridge cannot be surpassed. These arms have less parts than other breechloading rifles in use, and the parts are of such form as to render them as strong and safe as rifles can be made. They have short top action, and are symmetrical in form. See Kennedy Rifle and Whitney Rifle.
