PEEP SIGHT WITH SPECIAL BASE—Could the Marble peep sight with special base, designed for the comb of the stock, be used successfully on my Royal, three barreled gun? Would it be likely to strike one’s face because of the recoil of the shot barrels? There seems to be no other place for a peep sight.

I am afraid the sight with special base could not be used as the base is too long. It would have to be attached well up on the tang and the lever would not allow this. It may be possible that if enough of the tang is exposed behind the lever that a part of the sight base could be cut off and refitted. It is not likely to injure your face by the recoil for it is made for the 405 Winchester and that rifle has about the same recoil as a 12 gauge shotgun. What is more, it would interfere with wing shooting and you would not want to have it raised when using the shot barrels.
