PERSPIRATION. The evacuation of the juices of the body through the pores of the skin. This is either sensible, which is called sweating ; or insensible, which is not perceptible to the senses. In some animals, as the dog, there is no visible perspiration; but in such the vapour thrown off from the lungs is proportionaly abundant.
