PAWPAW TREE—DESCRIPTION OF—Can someone give me a good description of the paw- paw tree?
The pawpaw tree grows more as a bush than tree—about ten feet high, has thick white bark, broad glossy dark green leaves, the bloom is in clusters and purple; fruit sets on in clusters of three or four of about inch in diameter and four to five inches long, yellow when ripe with bean-like black seed, grows only in rich bottom lands in the West but in coves and other rich ground in the Eastern States.
