Northern Ontario-Is Northern Ontario a better place to trap and hunt than Northern Wisconsin?
Yes, Ontario is better than Wisconsin for both hunting and trapping. Game, with the exception of Virginia deer, is the more abundant in Ontario, and furbearing animals, with the exception of mink and wolves, are more plentiful also. There are many less trappers in Ontario, sixe of country considered, than in Wisconsin, therefore more room for others, and there is better winter trapping. In northern Wisconsin there are few furbearing animals that can be successfully trapped in winter, while in Ontario the principal furbearers are lynx, martens and fishers, animals that travel all winter and take bait wall at all times. There is also a greater variety of game, moose and caribou being included.
